How do I search?
Our search works on sophisticated keyword matching.
When you enter a keyword(s) or a phrase, the search will find
return those images that mirror those keywords. If you already
know the image number that you are looking for, you can enter
that.
There are a number of different ways that you can search:
| Keywords |
Enter keyword(s) separated by a space e.g. GP consultation woman |
| |
|
| Phrases |
You can enter and search on phrases e.g. nurse taking blood pressure |
| |
|
| Image numbers |
You can enter and search by image number e.g. PPL6785 |
| |
|
| What to avoid |
There is no need to enter commas, apostrophes, quote
marks or other forms of punctuation. This is not a case
of us omitting punctuation - it is simply a way to make
your search work better for you! e.g. if you are looking
for a picture of a flu vaccination clinic in progress
enter the following:
Flu vaccination clinic NOT "flu clinic, vaccinations" |
| |
|
| Case? |
Our search is not case sensitive so PATIENT is treated
the same way as patient (excuse the pun). |

are associated with the type of image you are looking
